Why does everyone think all of the sudden that every pilot in the state of FL will be forced to the northeast? It doesn't make sense, they would be acquiring us for our pilots/planes/bases. I don't see them shrinking FLL and forcing everyone to the NE.

To be honest, I hope you're wrong and we stay at FLL. I don't wanna drive to MIA or take the train.

I get that people don't like MIA but it is a such a large market compared to FLL. I mean, that's where all of the people live lol.

Both airlines do a considerable amount of flying into LATAM, and those people are all about some Dade county. To them FLL is just a cheap flight to get in an uber and head south.

You have ZERO idea now ALPA mergers work.

Because they haven't done any substantive research on how ALPA mergers actually work.

Except for the fact that most /all list merges dont allow for bump and flush.

I'm just the squeaky wheel. Give me ATL and I'll stay. Anyone know HOW the merger will go for Seniority? Both being ALPA doesn't mean much in terms of HOW they combine from everything I've read. Doubt staple to the bottom, but how would the zipper really go.

heres how it goes.

both sides get in a room and agree on very basic things. Snapshot dates and a few definitions.

they get in front of a few arbitrators and…

spirit argues for relative seniority, and talks about how fast NK was growing, while arguing JB has regional jets that should go to the bottom.

JB argues for longevity, and talks about the Uk/Europe flying is super superior, and the 220 was replacing the 190 anyways. The contract is crazy better!!!

spirit says JB is full of crap
jb says spirit is full of crap

the arbitrators say they are both full of crap and proceed to **** off both sides by Ignoring all the arguments and making up their own integration method.

They come up with some zipper method that takes part of cal/ual and part of AAL/VA(because God forbid we ever have a uniform method to integrate lists) and they assign everyone new numbers based partial on longevity, career expectations and category class. The 3 tenants of ALPA merger policy that none can define and the arbitrators interpret differently every merger.

bam, one big happy family in about 2-3 years.

Sadly, as with any merger, lives are about to change. Merely expressing condolences, nothing more.

No dog in the fight , just throwing meat in the cage. Fall on a sharpened pencil, sir.
