None international. All gone. Operation is now less than half of the launch size.

16 direct flights from MIA now, all domestic as you mentioned. This is a location they made a hub and a crew base.

21 direct flights from DFW now, domestic and international. This is a base they shrank and displaced.

Genius

How is it possible international didn’t succeed in MIA when it prints money in FLL

Remember, they are the ones with the BIG picture…. We see nothing.

JM sure hasn’t had many (any?) wins.

mia and fll serve the same market, so flying mia-south to routes we already fly fll-south doesnt add new passengers it dilutes the route

Ted, or one of his lackeys, had their excuse for this on the last investor call. Basically “our market is so strong in FLL, our passengers are wanting to fly from FLL vs MIA”

Which makes sense, it’s obvious, why do MIA when you can have easy FLL. So why did they attempt to make MIA something it isn’t?

Can’t say it enough, this management team is clueless and checked out

Supposedly the amount we pay for gates in MIA was increased dramatically and we couldn't swing it.

At the same time I'm counting about 30 flights a day at Newark, which is a highly disruption-prone airport, and would make perfect sense for a base.

Even more sense with the fact JBLU has already offered up our slots out of EWR, so perfect sense for our inept management to double down up there.

Can't speak for the other international routes out of MIA, but MDE was always nearly full when I would randomly check loads for nonrev travel (as was FLL).

I think it has more to do with airport user costs than anything.
