Got a sneaking suspicion, it’s because they don’t have an argument to make in court. Ever seen a soccer player in agony on the ground, then benefit from the foul and suddenly they are in ship shape. 3 main ULCC brands in the US. 2 are in the black. The one in the red is also in negotiations. I’m all for whatever benefits us as whole. But man, pilots are some of the dumbest smart people ever.

Also, Frontier’s stock price is in the dumps. If their were anyway the company could make the books look better, they probably would. Doubtful they would mess with the books to make the company look worse off just to delay/stall pilot negotiations, if that’s what you were implying. |

The ULCC model was supposed to be the first to return to profitability. Even if Frontier is going to be profitable this year, it is certainly nowhere near what it was previously predicted to be at in comparison to the legacy carriers.

ULCC is saturated. Frontier is in the same boat and is drastically changing its model.

So... changing the model to out and back flying with all aircraft back in home base at night for maintenance? Sounds good in theory, but one problem is (especially for a large, or "growth", airline) there simply isn't enough parking space at night for all of those aircraft. Not nearly enough. For example, Delta parks aircraft overnight all over the southeast because there simply isn't room in Atlanta. Now you gotta pay to overnight the crews and have maintenance at many of those outstations.

How bad are upgrade times about to get given the aircraft being grounded next year (I'm guessing really really bad)?
I'm not waiting around and am updating apps but if there is something I'm missing please let me know. From what I can see upgrades are about to slow to a crawl. Combine that with the JetBlue merger and the fact that a lot of their pilots commute and will come to some of the Spirit bases (I live in Chicago) and it's all bad news as far as I can see. The only thing I can think of is that attrition is about to increase again which could lead to faster upgrade times but that seems like a huge reach and very hypothetical at best. |

On another note, I have a uhhh friend, who is wondering if they should start looking at other options. They’re a low time FO bidding 90%+, that’s worried that with no more FO hiring and the P&W being grounded that they won’t fly much and will take forever to build enough time to go to united. Would I er..I mean my friend be crazy for looking at atlas or a fractional?
