I agree, but where are the letters? I expected WARN notices the day after we pulled out of the appeal.
In the spirit of stoking other rumors, could a potential purchase by Frontier or Southwest have implications the company's decision to furlough? |

I did, too. The longer the company waits to F us, the less they would benefit from it.

You really think there’s a chance of a merger with WN? Their point-to-point system would be much harder with 2 fleets and any hiccup could really screw the pooch operationally. Maybe I’m just being a pessimist.

Retired and resigned are two quite different words. This guy has been in the game a long time, good for him to retire and spend more time with his family. If that’s his choice and that’s what he wants to do. Doesn’t mean we’re headed in nose down spiral to disaster. Some have been screaming and crying furlough for months and months. I just don’t buy it. I truly don’t believe there will be a need for it. That would be a very permanent decision for a very temporary problem. So in my opinion, the only thing “guaranteed about furloughs” are that they are rumors and nothing more.
Why is it that all executives always leave “to spend more time with their family” and yet end up at other jobs 😏 |

In the old days, in business, when there is not something like this going on, it was announced, "John Doe is resigning to pursue other interests." |

Even if WN is farfetched, F9 might not be. I was moreso wondering how a merger, regardless of who it might be with, would affect the company's strategy as it relates to potential furloughs.

As someone from NK and now at WN, I would have loved to get you all over here, great group indeed, however, I have to agree that the last thing WN needs now is another aircraft with issues, plus we don't need larger planes, we need smaller. While I once thought it was a possibility, I think the only avenue for us is something akin to a Breeze or making a move on Hawaiin. While Hawaiin doesn't have a glut of small planes, they do have heavies, something that would allow us to expand if leadership went that route. This is all conjecture however as I am not an airline CEO and honestly have no idea of all the nuances and complexities something like this entails.
