WSJ should be taken with a grain of salt. They are controlled to push a narrative. Business news is politicized like every other thing.

Sonic may not be great at parties, but he is generous enough to volunteer his time at the local children’s hospital. He’s the guy that tells the parents when their kid has cancer……

Done or not it's a tough road ahead. Can't wait for the communication from SPA about todays meeting.

does anyone have anyway around this paywall? George Soros now has stake in Spirit.

Now that .gov and a big name have stock in Spirit. (And that wealthy Carl guy with B6)
now I wonder if the tables have turned and it’s in our favor for this merger?

he actually shorted the stock right before the merger was blocked, he isn’t invested in Sh*t. Would be funny if he had been donating Millions to the democrat party and helped reshaped the judicial system………. Oh wait

here’s the document. Chimpy is right, shorted SAVE @ $16/share and also bought some bonds. Bought some JBLU calls at $6, and Hawaiian and Sun Country stock as well.

I also don’t think the gov has any stake in spirit

A bunch of insiders are going to start parking their money in Spirit/JetBlue stock quietly before the merger is approved. Stock price sky rockets, they sell and fund Michelle Obama’s parachute into the 2024 election. The merger was purposely blocked to crater the stock for cheap by ins.

So crazy it just might work.

I do somewhere believe you but do you know where frontier is getting the funds for this?

Also looks like we just had her third c-suite leave in a month.

yes, because

1. APC says so
2. This DOJ is so fond of airline mergers
3. Airline pilots are financial geniuses

Yep, when the rats flee the ship the end is usually near. Rumours are furloughs are guaranteed as we “right size” for the engine issues and I feel for those near the bottom of the list.

I agree, but where are the letters? I expected WARN notices the day after we pulled out of the appeal.

Born2FlyAv8R 03-21-2024 09:20 PM

Retired and resigned are two quite different words. This guy has been in the game a long time, good for him to retire and spend more time with his family. If that’s his choice and that’s what he wants to do. Doesn’t mean we’re headed in nose down spiral to disaster. Some have been screaming and crying furlough for months and months. I just don’t buy it. I truly don’t believe there will be a need for it. That would be a very permanent decision for a very temporary problem. So in my opinion, the only thing “guaranteed about furloughs” are that they are rumors and nothing more.

I did, too. The longer the company waits to F us, the less they would benefit from it.

In the spirit of stoking other rumors, could a potential purchase by Frontier or Southwest have implications the company's decision to furlough?

You really think there’s a chance of a merger with WN? Their point-to-point system would be much harder with 2 fleets and any hiccup could really screw the pooch operationally. Maybe I’m just being a pessimist.

As someone from NK and now at WN, I would have loved to get you all over here, great group indeed, however, I have to agree that the last thing WN needs now is another aircraft with issues, plus we don't need larger planes, we need smaller. While I once thought it was a possibility, I think the only avenue for us is something akin to a Breeze or making a move on Hawaiin. While Hawaiin doesn't have a glut of small planes, they do have heavies, something that would allow us to expand if leadership went that route. This is all conjecture however as I am not an airline CEO and honestly have no idea of all the nuances and complexities something like this entails.

Why is it that all executives always leave “to spend more time with their family” and yet end up at other jobs 😏

who knows - maybe they don’t enjoy the downtime as much as they thought. I know PLENTY of people who retire looking forward to the free time and then immediately realize they cant stand the freetime. Or maybe it’s an excuse they can use to leave without confrontation. But it does happen.

In the old days, in business, when there is not something like this going on, it was announced, "John Doe is resigning to pursue other interests."

I imagine it is a face saving measure. If the executive is being let go, it is easier than airing out his/her dirty laundry and risking a possible lawsuit. Or in the current case of our Spirit executives it makes the company look better than the unvarnished truth: Bob originally planned to stay a few more years and make bank with his stock options, but since those are in the toilet he is cutting bait and moving on. Don't panic, everything is alright!

Even if WN is farfetched, F9 might not be. I was moreso wondering how a merger, regardless of who it might be with, would affect the company's strategy as it relates to potential furloughs.

Cash burn. Worry about the other stuff later. The problem is you are a seperate entity until the marriage and still need to function.

Aren't we already Alaska's, pending the DOJ?

Most recent news I heard was that the board said they were willing to entertain any offer before the DOJ approves it.
