Give “him” a break. Sounds like you know “him” personally. Guy it’s not what this user says. It’s HOW they say it. As if they are the actual person that calls all the shots (and it just may be). Like they have a choice I the direction they go with the company. But, dudes on APC are challenging this person. Which enrages this person even more. And contributes to how many people will get furloughed.
So don’t cross them or else……….
You’ll see……
Stupid crap like that is totally unnecessary and serves only to get under the skin of people. So I really don’t know this users deal. But they clearly got a thing for people that are insecure about their job as a pilot.

What are you even talking about? Enraged? Sheeesh, that’s something. It seems Mr Lincoln is the enraged one, as he’s quite infatuated with me. Even with all the other people telling him the same thing, it’s only me that he comes at speaking as a petulant child. As I said, take it or leave it, but to those who want to take it, the pilot group deserves a heads up. If you don’t want to believe it, then don’t, but I would never tell anyone what decision they should make.

Clearly people are concerned about their jobs. Many of those same people, cannot go anywhere else. This is the end of the line. It’s not by choice. There are no other options. Consider yourself lucky to have options.
I for one, would expect the heat, if I spoke all cryptic about people’s potential livelihood. Can’t argue that.

I don’t expect anyone hired today to be a WB FO or NB CA in 2 years. This isn’t 2022 anymore.
If you’re a Spirit CA making north of $400 W2 going to $120hr on on guarantee is yeah about an 80% cut
You also have to calculate the difference in earnings each year it takes to get back to that pay you left and then the earnings you could make on that money and the lost retirement contribution. It’s a massive investment to start over. If you’re young and/or junior it’s a no brainer. If you’re middle aged and senior the math is much more complex.
If you have kids in influential years and you only have a few short years before they leave home it makes giving up the schedule voluntarily very hard. When you know you can get any day off you want for anything it’s hard

CA is about 3 years right now? Maybe? We’re gonna have another vacancy in the fall with NBCA positions so that will paint a better picture of how long it takes to hold the left seat. I’m curious myself where the needle lands with that that vacancy.
But the 756 FO went to probationary pilots so it’s still definitely a thing. 756 reserve is barely above MMG due to the nature of the flying, but those reserve pilots average 20ish days a month at home while on reserve (do not need to live locally for this to happen).
Totally agree with what you said about the difference in earnings. More so with the 401k. That’s where you see the biggest difference. In January, we go to 18% (as will most legacies, I’m sure) so that would help a bit.
I don’t want to see y’all struggle. The decision to move on or stay is a deeply personal one, but I don’t want to see the decision being made with bad info like “it’ll take a decade to hold weekends and holidays off.” Other people on here feel the same way. Hence why we come back here

January of 2026, first year pay will be $125. No doubt it’s still a massive pay cut, but still better than $120. I also find that most reserve pilots will reach approximately 80 hours of month without flying a single leg (SC add pay). Again, still a massive pay cut, but better than $120 at MMG. Just something to consider.

Getting paid 80 for doing nothing! This will last forever! Sustainable business model for sure! The credit card BS at some point will be addressed. Either the broke gen whatevers will get sick of fees going to free perks for the rich,(and responsible folks who pay their credit card bill every month) or it’ll be something else we never saw coming. But the legacy businesses model banking on credit card swipes won’t last forever. Admittedly it’ll last longer than Spirit.
Also, 79 if you wanna get technical. Though UA will absolutely use you use on reserve on the NB fleet so 80 is almost guaranteed, but have to do a bit more than “nothing.”
I know your specialty on here is hating on the legacies and how they conduct business, but you’re gonna have to try harder, bud.

Not a Spirit pilot but I make $500 per flight hour at a ULCC without working premium. 250 days off. To go to UA and commute vs not now with very young kids is a tough ask. I also didn’t come to my ULCC for the money, I came for the schedule. For me time is WAY more important than money. We will all retire just fine in this industry. Shat company or not.
