Quote: Flights to a hub where two competing legacies are flooding the market with seats anywhere and everywhere probably isn't giving the best ROI. Smart to pull out.
Not pulling out as far as I know. Just using common use gates instead. I’m sure it’ll work out fine

Quote: Think about our ALPA friend who brags about how little he works and how much he credits. That is the type of guy that’s gonna save the airline. What a joke. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
You mean ole “J.T.”? Yeah, he’s good representative of what’s left. Sadly.

Quote: They are going to use 1113 to gut our work rules, resulting in about 13 pilots per airplane instead of the traditional 17 that we been having. Around 76 airplanes they are aiming to shrink the fleet. This will result in a 1000 pilot airline. If you are below that number in the seniority list you need to leave yesterday, they won’t keep people around
As someone who doesn’t work for Spirit, did they actually say this? I would believe it but I also think this could be fake.

If so, they’ll probably cut pay even more. At a certain point, is it even worth staying? Captains will be making what legacy narrowbody first officers are making and first officers will be making regional wages. Plus there won’t be much movement and company still not making money.

the ones left who unfortunately got the tbnt from the legacy carriers will be grateful to still have a job I would think, though you’re right, they would be grossly underpaid.

They haven't announced it yet. But I know people in HQ that told me that this will happen. And its correct because in the past I told everyone here that they would announce ~350 furloughs (when everyone for some reason were saying that they will start doing recalls) and a few days later it happened. I also announced here that management wants to shrink the fleet even more, and later the company announced 20 aircraft sales. Obviously I can't name who is telling me this info... but if you are more Junior than Pilot #1000 in this company, you need to get out yesterday! They will shrink this place to a 1000 pilot airline.

Just look at docket number 802 on epiq. It's the billable hours for OMelvney and Myers, the same lawyers that came up with the negotiating strategy for the company that 82% voted yes on in December. Then by January the company already has a change in labor strategy and has OMM working on analyzing our cba's and the effects of filing a motion on them. Reading between the lines it seems like 1113. January 29 they mention additional labor negotiations. One way or another, more concessions are coming. A fleet the size of a start up airline with everyone at the top of the pay scale. Contract 2010 rates here we come.

Did the people in HQ say anything about closing ORD and ATL and/or another furlough since attrition is like 100 plus pilots a month? I believe you by the way and already figured more pain was coming...

From what I have been told, they want to close ORD, ATL, and DFW. They were thinking of closing LAS also, but they are afraid that it might pick up in the future. Furloughs/Downgrades will happen, unless attrition is so much that brings the pilot group down to 1000. They are terrified of being overstaffed and wont keep extra pilots around.

ORD 320 and DFW 320 are now going to newhires at AA. Guys starting next week who were ex DFW NK guys, there are a few, shouldn’t have to commute a day.

And before the usually few come on here with their “get out of here, who needs ya!” I’ll say, this isn’t for you but people who may be tired of the ride.

Don’t know a single pilot at Spirit that wants to work for AA.
