Were those the 20 that went to auction? Regarding those I was surprised there were no bids besides the original bid.

The 1st bankruptcy was an attempt to shed obligations for a merger. When that didn't work the emergence from bankruptcy was to get a quick payday and screw the new stockholders.

The second bankruptcy was another attempt at a merger, when that didn't work it was either liquidate or buy more time by coming out of bankruptcy and hoping something happens.

Spirit was never going to be successful as a standalone airline poat bankruptcy. With the oil prices, it seem like time may of ran out for any lifelines. But who knows.
