True, but I will not be surprise to see the company offering premium pay to cover their holes before upgrades or recalls, in my opinion it wont be long before that doesn't cut it and they HAVE to recall and UG.
And as for how many will suck out to OT, my guess 15-20 % of our pilots, one in particular who on his own words "DOESN'T GIVE A ==== ABOUT FURLOUGHS".
(eventually EVERYONE has to answer to a higher authority, best of luck to him)
Cheers.

As such, I doubt that it will reappear. I predict that they will actively work to prevent the company developing any "tricks" to pay premium pay and to prevent pilots from taking any premium pay.
This is only my analysis, don't read too much into it other than an idea that premium pay OT will not likely return.
As for the pilots who will continue to fly OT, I personally have always appreciated them. They fly and keep me from being junior assigned.
Which brings me to my only real disappointment with this contract: that 90 hour lines will force me to work OT against my will. However my friends who analyze scheduling and the numbers better than I tell me that my fears are unfounded, that Spirit will not be able to consistently build 90 hour lines. I hope they are correct, I value my days at home far more than another day of pay.More: The only thing that will bring back furloughs and upgrade downgrades is more airplanes. We had what?, thirty five or thirty six airplanes two years ago? When we get back to that number, then we can talk hiring, etc.
Every airline relies on OT to provide a staffing "shock absorber", and I expect that both SPA ALPA and Spirit expect and ACCEPT some reasonable level of OT. Obviously, both sides, no matter what their public stance, are OK with OT. Completely eliminating OT would have necessitated a huge concession in pay to provide the funds to pay the extra crews necessary to cover ALL flying. IOW, don't hate the OT guys, they actually help keep the average pay UP, not down.

I hope you are correct about your comments on the future interpretation of this new CBA.
I Just like you, the majority of the pilots, our MEC and the NC think that this will bring our coworkers back to work. I do agree that bringing ACs will be the real reason and also agree that 90 hr lines are going to be hard to maintain.
Cheers, is nice to see positive thinking for a change.

Sky!, i never did, actually i've picked up a trip here and there, i am not a hypocrite, but am more of a SWAP and DROP type of guy and guy that picked my trips made my life easier. What i cant is gluttony, and we have some fatties here that nothing is ever enough, taking everything with tunnel vision, "me, me, me".
I hope you are correct about your comments on the future interpretation of this new CBA.

Hey Sailor, did you put in the update on the Spirit page on APC? It says it passed with 98% voting yes. There were 24% of us who had the smarts to vote no on this concession. I have to put an update in to update the skewedness of that info. I believe in the truth.
