At 1100 it is a 5% increase in efficiency which can not be done every month because pilots will time out. So this 90 plus only will be used durring high season.
Yes durring high season the 90 hour Lines can be built but how many? Do you currently see every line built at 85?
Yes the ave will go up but you will never see all 1100 hours used and this make that 5% more like 3% to 4%.

Yes, if you take your 84 hours of vacation a year, you can be awarded 90 hour lines all year long.
90x12=1080
subtract 84 hours vacation
that leaves 996 hours.
Will it happen? maybe not, but they can do it if they want to. I am tired of people looking backwards for defending this contract.
90 hours a month is way too much, weather it's just for the peak season. I make mistakes when I have flown that much. Now, because of this contract I will be forced to fly 90 hours a month. I think it was better when the overtime hookers picked up the extra in the busy seasons.
It's so funny that people vilinized the people who worked overtime because it hurt furloughs/upgrades/new hires, but this contract gives so many efficiencies, it does way more damage. Oh yeh, and I still make 15 percent less than jblue pilots flying with 23 more seats per plane....cool.....

What's the difference? Why give that to them. They now can build all lines to 90 hours if they want to. It is legal. You can't say nothing about it. Why do you assume they won't do it? How long have you worked for these people, seriously?

You will never get through to these guys with facts and / or logic - that crazy stuff just gets in the way of a good internet beat-down. They now have a legal way to work more without the "OT hooker" moniker. Now they can hose the furloughed guys and say "the company made me do it". Now EVERYBODY HAS to pickup OT, whether they live in base or out in CO, everyone is equally overworked. Socialist utopia. I Used to refer to our non-member elected MEC members as Larry, Moe, and Curly; unfortunately it's more like Karl, Vlad, and Joe (Marx, Lenin, Stalin for those of you based in ACY ).

Now the ave. can be higher but it will never get to 90 even in high season. Ok we gave the company a break to keep our 4-5 days off and to get pay increase, get over it.
Now I do agree with you on the RED/GREEN should not have given away all of the 10%. A 4 to 5% min should have been used. I don't trust the company to do the right thing.

What do you want to hear that you’re right? OK here it goes, your right. Now move on. I think your making a big deal about the 5 hours when it’s not. When we had 85 hour max do you know how many times the company maxed out the 85 hours in the last 2 years??

Sorry if I don't fit the MEC "Yes man" mold, but I'm simply pointing out an inconsistency. The point I've been trying to make is that the people that bust on the "Overtime prostitutes", are the same people so adamantly FOR a CBA that allows the company to do much more with much less. Personally, I am For being the most efficient airline on the planet, it is good for all of us. Unfortunately, you can't have it both ways. You can't blast the OT guys, then vote yes for a cba that causes the same thing.

We’ve just completed building and/or approving the September lines in preparation for bidding. The lines in DTW were a bit problematic, as the company just added another Vegas flight that resulted in the base not being properly staffed. Due to this, many of the DTW lines have a high credit value with Vegas and LAX flight scattered over most of the lines. We know this is not an ideal situation, but we did make sure that a 22-24+ rest period was built into any situation that would require a pilot to change his/her sleep cycle.
the company hopes to start recalling the remaining furloughs in November and December.
I guess that September delivery we have been waiting for all year caught them by surprise.

From the SPA MEC:
Interesting, insufficient staffing, yet they say:
Good news all around, the company gets to use their shiny new 90 hour line build, the DTW guys get to be ALPA sanctioned, mandatory OT prostitutes (albeit at straight time) for the next four months. Not to mention the furloughed guys get to extend their vacation for another four months! A true win-win-win situation. Only problem is for any DTW guy that was looking at taking some float before the end of the year... Don't think that's going to happen.

MMMM, 4-5 days off got to love'm!!,
...this may be great news for our FUR buddies, the may be back OCT-NOV or so... New 320 by mid SEP, 3 at the beginning of 2011....
How can we turn all thing in to negative thinking....ohh yeah the company got caught by surprise, like its something new at Spirit.
100% OT may be the only thing to attribute the recalls + new hires for the new frames.
People picking up OT at 150% and dealing behind the scenes for 200% pay would DEFINITELY keep pilots on the streets. FACT!. 85-90 hrs lines will not.
Cheers.
