Was there a rumor about moving hq to DFW?

JoeyMeatballs 06-06-2013 06:26 PM

Oh God please no, lol I would think miramar is cheaper than DFW.

I've heard that one from multiple sources.

Mgmt officially denied it, which can only mean it is imminent.

Also, supposedly we broke ground on a mx hangar at DFW within the past month... Rumor is DFW has basically opened their arms to Spirit so to speak and is offering many incentives..... Not sure what those would be???

And, crew scheduling actually took us off of a turn to avoid a delay due to crew rest. Wazzap with that? I never had that before.

We are not in the full swing of busy season yet. While I believe they are less they are still the same. I have had 2 APUs inop in the past month. The one last week was in DFW when all ground air at every gate was down... Thats right 96 degrees in the cabin.

I believe the FOM gives you an out in that type situation. Unless its been removed, pax boarding is not allowed if the cabin temp exceeds a certain value(85F I think??). I don't think anyone could argue it is safe to confine people in a metal tube for any period of time at those temperatures. Something tells me they would've found a working AC cart pretty darn quickly if you told them you weren't boarding without one.
