I believe that if a new C series aircraft order is indeed the reason for the meeting, the union, now, isn't stupid enough to sign off on it with the "promise" of good faith bargaining. I hope to think that they would walk out with a signed TA for the pilot group to vote on.

Yeah no kidding.

Bobby F can go F---- himself if he thinks well grant any type of aircraft order on the premise of something as worthless as his and Bendover Johhnys word

Whilst I'll refrain from using the language MooseJaw used, I can't envision a scenario where the Union will entertain any "promises" Mr. Fornaro may or may not present at this meeting.

That being said, anything on the record would be scrutinized by a mediator, correct?

Think of it like this;

The company is a senior frat boy.
We are a sweet little freshman girl.

The frat boy will make endless empty promises and say whatever convincing line it takes to keep stringing along the sweet freshman and all the while, tapping that tight cheap labor.

This "special meeting" is just a late night booty text.

I really hope the union believes no promises. The "quid" was the final straw and proof that the company has no intention of fulfilling any promises.

I would have to say that if it is a new aircraft order the union should get industry standard pay for that aircraft before we could fly it.

If it is an aircraft order for a new airplane type, I think it would be in our best interest to get a great pay scale for the plane as soon as possible. More airplanes means more Captain positions and possibly more bases.

1. Shouldn't need to be in one of those "Captain positions" to make a livable wage here.
2. I believe this C-series order speculation is just a fantasy they are using to sell new hires on coming here and staying awhile (after hearing it from multiple new hire FO's this month)
3. If they do order a new type of plane (very doubtful IMO) ALPA should pull a SWAPA move and refuse to fly them without a new contract and Industry-LEADING pay. (Why all this talk about average? You will never have a chance to move to higher paying equipment, you have fewer infrastructure available when you have to declare an emergency, and you work for one of the most profitable airlines in the industry, you deserve to lead the pack on your equipment)

I'm gonna say there's gonna be no earth shattering news come out of this meeting. Guessin' it's gonna be a rah-rah, let's work together on a new contract type talk. That's it.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Who knows though?

Can someone please fill me in why the company needs ALPA to "sign off" on an aircraft order?

Wasn't that Bob's point with the whole low tier, 2 year upgrade comment?
