as the saying goes, best part about being a spirit captain, is not having to fly with a spirit captain..
all jokes aside I've flown with probably a good 65 different guys, most are pretty cool guys, but whew, the ones on most peoples No-fly list are the grumpiest, whiniest, egotistical, incompetent bast***s Ive ever come across..

I don't do any of those things, but you must be a real FUCCKING treat to fly with, seriously like a "Kit Kat" or "snickerdoodle"type of fun. The funny thing is the Fo's that are doing this stuff must think you are a lackluster captain that has zero fortitude to get a damn thing done. Honestly I don't know you, but just remember every time you point at someone you have 3 fingers pointing back at you! Like I have said to you before, one of these days you will wake up and notice the world is not all that bad, could be a hell of a lot worse, like working for Walmart.
As for the walk around at 5 minutes yeah that's lame!

Note to the one year FO who thinks you're smarter than the Captain, most likely I'm a RJ puke just like you. Get over yourself.

Looks like Jyri and Dancasters plan is working. "Hire FO's that think their sh-+^#}%t doesnt stink. Those FO's will decide they know more than the Captains and we'll get them fighting with each other"

I must be flying with all the wrong people, because so far (20 months) I haven't had any conflicts.

I'm with you not doing everyone's job. BTW, feel free to get the FO's off my a$$ while I'm not doing everyone else's job. Want me to go find the paperwork? Should I call for gas? Want me to...?
No, what I would like is for you to not wait until 5 min prior to departure to do the walk around. Don't make an a$$ of us on the radio, and don't inject yourself between me and the gate agent or flight attendant when I'm trying to do my job. And NO, I don't want you to call dispatch.
As for not saving fuel, sorry, its what I do. Its what separates us from the apes.

Gotta like how several FOs below this took offense. I think you have a good post. Everyone talks about a nightmare CA to fly with, but there's also the flip side of the coin with horror FOs. I'd say the single biggest complaint I have heard is what you are basically saying: a FO trying to be a CA and run the ship. To a CA, that's gotta be annoying.
Meh, unless the CA has a complex I'm not sure why they'd get mad at a proactive F/O.
That being said I've never been a CA so I really should probably keep it shut until I upgrade

Just an example and its not a great one but when is the last time you reached up and turned on the seat belt sign in light chop without talking with the captain?

I don't think a proactive FO is a bad thing at all. I think he was referring to a FO that might overstep the captain's authority. Probably not an intentional thing, especially if they were regional captains for quite sometime. Takes awhile to get used to being back in the right seat.
