I had a CA tell me the other day that he was already making over 240 and hour. I asked him how he came up with that number. He basically said that this month he was crediting over 95hrs of pay at 185 an hour, but he was only flying 72 hrs. So he said he divides his pay ( 95*185/72) by hours flown. I told him nicely that he was only getting 185 hour, but he didn't agree. This sort of thinking is what I call stinkin thinking.

Oh, didn't think you were in on the original conversation with said captain. Problem is... what some of you guys get outraged about. Some of you are going to blow a gasket before you're able to move out of mom's basement. Of course that will help attrition and speed along a new cba for us idiots.

The most dangerous pilots we have here to vote on a CBA are the unconsciously incompetent ones. They are at the same time sure of themselves and completely unaware of how clueless they are.

Never made excuses for the rate, just stating that the original math wasn't wrong pertaining to the effective payrate. And... maybe poke some fun at what trivial matters (the math not the rate) that some people get so fired up about.
Btw, cudos to the mec for turning the lec4dfw movement in their favor by adding three times more sympathetic votes to the mec by adding acy ord and instructors. And how 'bout that executive council delay tactic? Economic impact... Priceless!
