Barring amending the RLA, voting with one’s feet is the most effective thing we can do. And with the upcoming retirement surge at the legacies, that tactic will become increasingly effective. If other majors don’t want to simply become pretraining establishments, just stamping out type-ratings for their new hires to take off to a legacy in a year, they are going to have to up their game.

I agree. The company got a nice reprieve with attrition these last 9 months. ****'s gonna get real when they actually start bringing additional airframes on property. Not to mention SWA and others kicking hiring into high gear after the Max grounding is lifted.

Sw never slowed their hiring for the year even with the max being grounded. At the end of the yr they will have 70 max, flying or not.
Itll be interesting to see if they get more orders or if the A220 rumor comes true. If that's the case then I get they'll hire another 1000 next yr

Really don't think they will as ridiculous and wasteful as the PDX negotiations. 2020 will begin the perfect storm for negotiations. Hiring by legacy carriers will increase four-fold from 2020-2024, over 2019 hirings. 2020 will begin the third year of Apollo Global Management ownership....it will be difficult to IPO with an open pilot contract. Think they will be a little more motivated when they start losing pilots and can't grow enough to make us an attractive IPO candidate.

Reading this forum made me feel like I traveled back in time. No hotel during training, no perdiem, garbage pay... jeeez.
I get it if you already live in that frozen tundra and love it. Otherwise... makes no sense
