Do not call in sick or fatigued or you will go to jail! (Jail sentence will be served after the holidays)

They did not fix anything with pairing construction. I have multiple trips/pairings over the past 2 months where we are getting into an outstation around 2PM then expected to report at 2-3am for a van. Attempting to obtain adequate rest in the middle of the afternoon under those conditions is extremely difficult, especially when the preceding days’ schedules are misaligned.

I hope the FSDO has a close eye on this issue and I would go as far to say it should be reported to them. The wording and tone clearly discourages people who are genuinely fatigued or sick from calling out. In my 16-year career as a pilot, I have never received an email of this nature.... deeply troubling.
not to split hairs but it would be the CMO not the Fizz Doe

FAA stance is that the company can fire you for calling out fatigued. There is no FAA requirement for a good faith/no fault fatigue program. All FAA says is you have to be removed from duty if you call fatigued, everything after that is an employee/employer relationship issue, and FAA doesn't care about it.

Yet, we do have a fatigue program signed by the company, and if all you say is true, the pilot would still win in court if the company violates the agreement.

I was just referring to the poster who said they should go to "FSDO" complaining about it. FAA doesn't give a rats ass how airlines deal with fatigue, as long as you have an option to remove yourself from duty.

Tone deaf as all get out. The pairings are terrible and they blame the pilots.

Same reason they can't get people to upgrade, it's the pairings. Same reaction, blame the pilots for not growing.

Don’t forget reserve rules. It’s a bitter pill to swallow moving from a sweet PBS line with Caribbean overnights to the bottom of the CA rank. Unless you’re moving on to a legacy. Getting that TPIC makes sense. You can certainly do that here.
Not many are. Feb PPR out today had 315 CA. Go back a year it was 304. Net +11 CA while onboarding 8 Amazon birds. But I guess we don’t have an upgrade problem. I use to chat about it in the cockpit. Hardly think about it anymore. They can blame us- but we don’t set The Tone.

For those asking about CVG, today’s position report had fifteen slots available for the February 1 opening. Two FOs bid it. Thirteen available for new hires. Come one come all!
