Wow, thanks for the replies guys that helps. QOL is important for me and I can overlook spirit or JetBlue pay for not having to commute for now. That’s kind of shocking they don’t pay for hotels , although I don’t care since I live in msp , They must have a hard time getting people in that are not local if that’s the case. Can anyone by chance PM or email me your current contract if allowed?

I don’t care too much to go to a major , although I’ll take it if it comes. My other question was how many of the guys there go on to a major? I’m about a year from upgrade, so not sure if sticking it out and getting some pic would be advantageous to me .

One more question, when is your contract up for renegotiation?

Thanks!

We have had a ton of guys leave for SWA as well as the Legacies, FDX and UPS. Our current contract is up in Nov., 2020. The company came to the union last month wanting to discuss changes to the current contract, but we haven't been told what they have proposed yet.

Thats great to know at least one could move on should they wish too. Im looking at it more of a place to stay and build some seniority for QOL versus get in and get out.

5-6 Day trips? Thats pretty long . How many days off is the average line holder getting ? Reserves used much? Im so sorry for all the questions just looking for information and theres not a whole lot ( atleast updated on here).

I received a invite for interview and trying to gather as much info as possible about Sun Country.

I’m currently at a regional in the left seat, and will make about 100 K this year, but I have a lengthy commute to work (3hours 1 leg). I’m ready for a change, but my main concern is the current compensation. I live 30 minutes from MSP, so not commuting is the biggest plus. What’s the current upgrade running and is the pay rates on this site correct? Thanks

The rates on APC do not reflect the contract increases since Nov. 1, 2015. Second year pay for as of Nov.1, 2018 will be $76.19 and as of Nov. 1, 2019 $82.29. Upgrade is looking like it will be under two years. Tried to attach a picture of the rates, but failed.

Thanks! I have a couple friends at SY and that’s what they said as well. Will interview and decide.

Your first year you will most likely be on reserve for 6-9 months with the training foot print. If you look at first year pay at 48/hr at 75 hours for the 12 months you will make $43,200.. if you have a line you might be able to pick up a trip but not many.

Be aware, the junior lines you will be able to hold will be worth 70 hours and have 12-13 days off. Not enough days off to pick much up. You probably won’t be making 100k until your 3 or 4 year as a reserve captain with 10 days off a month.

Don’t let them try and trick you to think you will have a line with 18-20 days off a month and making 6 figures in your 3rd year. That is for captains that have been with sunny for 20-25+ years... Don’t get sucked into the spin cycle of flying a 737.

Thanks for the honest assessment. I will go to the interview and see what they have to say, but I have no desire to be stuck with 10-12 days off a month, and taking 5+ years to catch up to my current pay. They got back to me super fast, so I assume not many with TPIC time are applying. Honestly with that pay, even our first year FOs would take a pay cut the first year.

I would say probably around 6-7 years currently. Holding a captain seat and picking up a little open time based on the current hourly rate and work rules. Just a guess.
