You did your homework! In the current environment where airlines are falling over themselves to improve pay, QOL, and retirement Sun Country still sits idle like we are in a recession... When classes dry up they might come to grips with reality.

Do you live in MN? How close to upgrade are you? I was told st least 5 years to break 100K at SY, and that’s if you upgrade. They also currently have a training contract, which should tell you something about them. Probably a lateral move for you, if you’re at republic or endeavor you will take a pay cut.

Is the pay really that bad at SY?

Propaganda numbers: *earning potential*...
*1st year FO - $61,709
*2nd year FO - $123,800
*3rd year CA - $176,009
The real numbers look more like:
*1st year FO ($48 an hour)*75 hour guarantee - $43,200
*2nd year FO ($71 an hour)*70 hour guarantee - $59,640
*3rd year CA ($114 an hour)*70 hour guarantee - $95,760
I think they might want to invest in some higher end calculators...
The real numbers mind any prospective applicant are gross pay values so you'd likely be taking home significantly less.
You'd also be on a training contract for your first 18 months.
Also your 1st year FO & 3rd year CA time would be partially if not entirely on reserve so - 10 days off a month, blocked from picking up any opentime, 2 hour call out, AM reserve starts at 3 a.m.
Welcome to Sun Country! (or whatever the name will be on Sept. 19th)

With the raise in November it looks to be true that a 3rd year CA will make right at $100k on reserve, for years, with 10 days off per month. That is why so many have made the jump to Southwest. Within the first year you can be holding blank lines with 18 days off and make what a 3rd year captain makes at Sunny. Lots of good guys still at SC and I wish the best to them
