September data for day trippers shows:

FO - Possibly as early as 3 years

CA - Possibly as early as 25 years

So with all the pilots leaving and lowering of the mins, is that a sign people are not “happy” at Sun Country and they come in for the type and leave? Or just a sign of the times of hiring at better majors?

Considering if it’s worth a tough commute for a couple of years or not.

There’s not as many leaving as expected. Trust me, not worth the commute.

I heard within a few days, but that was several months ago. They’re hurting so I assume if you meet minimums they will call you for interview.

Crazy?? Geez! You might want to adjust your expectations a bit. Turn lines are the Sun Country equivalent of widebody Captain at the Legacies. There are only about 20 turn lines in the September bid. So, considering the fact that most of the pilots are local, you can expect to not hold turn lines until you are bidding in the top 20% of your seat. How many years does it take to hold 777 Capt. at any of the Legacies again??

That being said, if you are local there are plenty of schedules that will have you sleeping at home than you would find at most airlines. Just not EVERY night. With new destinations and focus cities I'm sure the number of turn lines will not increase.

Does anyone have information on the interview/study guide ? I was going to use airlineinterviews, but the group of pilots is so small I’m not sure if that website is up to date.

Some questions.

What is pay during training ?
What is Min guarantee when on reserve?

They mentioned a hogan test for the interview. Any way to prepare for this? I’ve heard a lot of guys who take this test at United fail , unless they are different test / different passing requirements.

Thanks !

Training pay is 75hrs a month @48hr

Minimum guarantee is 75 hours first year. 70 hours second year and beyond.

Have no idea about the hogan and interview. They removed the pilots from the process when they would tell the applicants the truth when they asked a question... Now they lie to you to get you to sign the training contract. Management doesn’t want you to think and realize you are eating a turd sandwich... Don’t believe much of what they tell you. Ask a pilot there to give you the truth.

No way to prepare for the Hogan. It's a moving target from company to company. Each company can test for particular attributes it wants in its candidates. What passes for United might fail for Sunny, etc... When I took it I was told not to over think it. I'm kinda dumb so that wasn't difficult... If you take it don't try to answer the way you think they want. Just be honest and don't try to game it.
