Of course it is, as it is anywhere. The more applicants, the greater an employers ability to be more selective. More applicants often points to a more desireable position, and thus an employers ability to raise the bar. Take SWA for example. For a long time they required a 737 type, and somehow they never had a problem filling classes.

Who knows how many were even qualified and how many were just applying to apply along with sending resumes to the big 3 and the freighters. I would think with the regional flows people will just stick it out until they can flow. Plus the 737 type really doesn't carry the weight it once did.

I remember hearing a few years ago it was around 4000 resumes..
