Hey all,
I've got a few questions, looks like the sun country's apc profile hasn't been updated since January 2018.
1. What is the most junior captain's date of hire.
2. How many pilots are currently on property at Sun Country. (APC page says 333, is this still correct?)
3. How long would a new hire FO expect to be on reserve.
4. How long would it take a new hire to have weekends off? (reserve included)
5. Would you recommend Sun Country for a msp native with 1000 hr 121 pic?

[QUOTE=Mooneycfi;2673924]Hey all,
I've got a few questions, looks like the sun country's apc profile hasn't been updated since January 2018.
1. What is the most junior captain's date of hire.
Give or take 24 months to upgrade.
2. How many pilots are currently on property at Sun Country. (APC page says 333, is this still correct?)
Roughly 330 ish...
3. How long would a new hire FO expect to be on reserve.
If the hiring continues maybe 6-9 months. With hiring stopping during the busy season.
4. How long would it take a new hire to have weekends off? (reserve included)
3-6 months. As a line holder. A long time. As a vacation/leisure airline lots of the flying is Thursday-Sunday.
5. Would you recommend Sun Country for a msp native with 1000 hr 121 pic?
Depends where you are coming from and what you are looking to get out of a job at Sun Country...

MNpilot - do you have your ATP? Thanks!
I’m around 1950 hours. They contacted me about 4-5 days after I submitted the app.
I don’t expect them to be able to help with the vacation , it’s something I’m just going to have to think about and possibly push a class date to Jan or February. Last thing I want to do is go into a new job and ask that of them. I just hope they can still honor the class date 4-5 months down the line.

I believe they said Oct is filled, Nov is almost filled and are staring Dec.. Evem if you get Nov, you would be in the sim and it wouldn’t work out. Dec. class would be staring sim around that time. You’ll be best to wait it out unless they honor that time prior to job offer. Which will be extremely unlikely during training.
With the classes filling up already, and the other comment stating things would slow down in February/March, should I wait to submit my application if I'm looking to hopefully come over around the March timeframe? Or submit it with a March 1 availability? Curious if that can hurt your chances pushing it out as it is only September. I'd like to get my name in the mix, but my current contract is through the beginning of next year so want to prevent having to write a big check.

Excellent point. I’ll do that. Quick question. In airline apps do you think it’s best to put the March available date or just do a normal 2-4 weeks available and communicate it in the interview? I’m leaning towards the March time Thanks!

I've been wondering this too. Would Sun Country take guys between 1500-2000 hours with only 135 turboprop time?
