Typical footprint is about three months. One month of class with an oral around week three. Month two is flows and sims, with the checkride near the end of month two. IOE is month three. IOE scheduling is the least effecient part of the process. You can plan to be done in 12 weeks; give or take a week or two based on check airman availability for IOE.

Reserve is exactly what it is. An easy way to put it is you will be flying into places and or weather that the seasoned pilots don't want.
Its been made clear the failure rate is high. It is not due to hard training, it comes down to the capability to fly. Just because you meet the minimums to be hired doesn't mean you will make it through training and are qualified for the job. Beech said careers have been ruined, it may be good to say you have one failure. It won't be easy to say you have one failure in the 737 type to a major airline in the future.
Coming straight from a turboprop is doable I have seen it done. I know someone personally that had 2,000 TPIC in a SAAB w/no jet. He struggled and had to be carried through during systems, but he made it successfully. It can be done, no turbo-prop or jet experience I wish you the best of luck.
The 737 is an easy airplane compared to some regional jets. The issue is it is complex and a lot to handle. The MCP panel is overwhelming even after you finish training and takes avg a year to feel comfortable.
While you could bypass the regionals and come straight to the 737. You better take a long hard look at the possibility of giving up another job to be washed out of training.

Just got invited to interview for SY
Noob here. I just got an email invite to interview, I applied several months back. ATP, College Degree, 2500 TT, Jet type rating, CFII, 5 yrs corporate experience.
Against my better judgment, I am going to turn them down. I live around SDF area and I think that commute would be very tough. Would need a crash pad indefinitely especially while on reserve - $
It's a tough sell at 42k first year and a training contract. That's a lot of money to be on the hook for if something happens above and beyond simply moving on to Southwest or Delta or something. I also heard chatter that you have to pay for your own hotels at training, deal breaker unfortunately.
It would be different if I lived around MSP and/or was single. Just thought I'd share my thoughts and I hope this helps someone else as these are my findings based on the little bit of homework I've done. I hope that me saying no opens a slot up for another pilot who really does want the position.
