No long call reserve. Reserve has not changed. Two hour min call out. No hotels during training.
This is still a small local airline.... People have been hired that commute. Most people that commute get a crash pad or have friends or relatives they stay with. Some move here. I would suspect that with the pay raise some might now consider moving to MSP for this job.
It's not the best paying, but now our pay has a rate at the end of over $200 an hour. I think we are the only non legacy to have a rate over that bench mark.
I'm sure by the end of this contract others will have 200+ rates but for now, it's not bad for an airline with 20 planes.
I think it will pass.
From the inner grumblings it sounds like we will add 5 planes next summer and possibly a total of 35-50 planes by the end of the contract.

QOL commuting on reserve can be hard. The reserve blocks are set up where it's almost impossible to commute day of for reserve. Can only do it if you live closer. In the slow months dropping reserve days can be easy, but in the busier months it can be quite hard. Reserve is generally 5 on 2 off with one 4 day off block for a total of 20 reserve days a month. Generally junior lines are on 18 days a month which doesn't leave much room for straight pickups. I've only been able to trip trade when I can hold a line. Depending on the month I'm working anywhere from 15-20 days.

With all the hiring and plans to grow. If you get hired soon reserve shouldn't last long.

Do you think 2000TT will be competitive with the new TA being passed? I went to the job fair a couple weeks ago and they seemed pleased with my experience but got the, "apply when meet the mins" speech. Just wondering if they're going to get a flood of applications with the pay increase that push the competitive minimums up.

Any 737NG Captains looking for a change, my current company Xiamen Airlines has dramatically increased their pay and commuting options.
1. Non-Commuting 42 Days off/year $25,665/month
2. 8 days off in a block/month $24,655/month
3. 13 days off in a block/month $19655/month
4. 30 days on/ 30 days off $14,655/Month
There are other options and bonuses/overtime pay/per diem etc. I have 6 years experience here so can give you more advice or answer any questions if you want to PM me. Don't believe all you hear/read about China.
