R2W program specific questions???

The contract was with a company that is now insolvent, there is no one with claims to your bonus. You may get a call or a threat from someone who purchased the assets and liabilities, but good luck with collecting it or winning a judgement in court. It’s a worthless receivable on balance sheet for a insolvent company. You won.

I know a person at PSA who came from TSA at shutdown with this issue. TSA called them for RTP money after the shut down, within 2 weeks or so. They wanted back the money they paid for fixed wing. They told TSA to contact their attorney for any further questions. Never heard from them again. It was just a strong arm tactic, hoping you write a check for 50,000 that day.

Good info from all! I assumed it would be not enforceable. Unless there was a furlough or shutdown clause I would assume the company couldn't collect anything anyways since they didn't honor their commitment of being able to offer employment after completion of the RTP Program.

Wasn’t the RTP money based on the assumption you would work it off at TSA over the next few years? If the company abruptly closes the doors, I would assume that voids out repayment. Regardless, I’d tell Hulas he could lick my ballz.

No one soliciting legal advice! I’m merely inquiring about the outcome of these candidates after the doors closed.
I remember the contracts stating that by TSA providing the money upfront they would offer employment and a 2 year contract in return. If they can’t even offer employment I would think that in itself would void the contract like what is stated above.

To clear this up, if you played your cards right you don’t owe any money. The way the training contact was set up was that you would work there for 2 years to pay your “bonus” back. If you voluntarily left before that time, then you owed money. If you did not leave voluntarily, you owed nothing. This is why many people who had a hard time in training were offered the option to voluntarily resign, and pay money back, or get fired and not owe anything. Difficult choice for those at the time when you’re talking about 30k or that big black mark. Did you resign right before the shutdown? If you didn’t, you’re free.
