Default R2W program specific questions???

I cant seem to get ahold of a recruiter to break it down exactly how the R2W program works in further detail than what the website gives you.
-Wondering about how the bonus works and when its paid out. Another wards to use as subsidized income while training.
-How long till availability of entering training if offered a position?
-Housing situation, your responsibility to pay or is it payed for?
-If I already have attained my COMM SEL/INST Fixed wing add on am I going to have to use any of my Military benefits or will the remaining cost be covered?
currently 1280 hrs helo with 68 fixed wing.
Already have a job offer from Envoy

Thanks

Default R2W at Sky Warrior (from what I've been told)

The entire cost of your flying at SkyWarrior (including housing) is paid by TSAir, but deducted from your sign-on bonus. The balance of your bonus is paid the 12 month after you start flying the line. Food and transportation is "out-of-pocket", and you are not being paid for your training or for the time spent there. I plan to purchase a cheap bicycle when I arrive there next month.

Sky Warrior provides a cost analysis prior to signing the contract. Highlight from mine are as follows:

MEL add-on, 10 hrs, $3350, plus $460 for 2hr check ride.
SEL timebuilding, 89hrs $6675.
Housing (2 months) $800.

I am assured these are ESTIMATES, and can go either up or down in actuality.

Hope this helps.

Default R2W

Has anyone had an interview with TSA going R2W. Can you explain the process. Do they ask any technical questions?

Default R2W interviews

MedHawk60,

I interviewed in August and was not asked any technical questions. My interviewers were very satisfied with my abilities based upon my military experience.

My perception is that the priority of the interview was making sure you're not a butthead and will be pleasant company in the cockpit on a 4-day trip, as well as being a team player, calm, well-spoken/articulate, professionally dressed with good personal hygiene, and all the usual person-to-person concerns.

I asked specifically about tech issues and my male interviewer (L.M.) expressed it was not an issue since we could obviously fly (we passed the Army's flight program) and SkyWarrior would get me up to speed (FW requirements) in preparation for ERJ-145 ground school. I head to SkyWarrior in October.

If you have an interview- just be pleasant, honest and forthright, and enjoy your time there. They are quite pleasant company!

Happy landings,

How do any bonuses work?
Do they pay out anything at the time of training or is it just after indoc?
What about expenses living wise, hence the question if they pay anything out during training. That's what I was wondering.
About the more detailed information.

Bonuses work as explained above, with the cost of training that you need provided by the company to get you Comm AMEL, with 250 PIC hours coming out of the $30k offered. The balance, after taking out the cost for said training, is your bonus. It is paid in one lump sum 12 months after you finish Initial Operating Experience (IOE). During the time that you are working on your fixed wing ratings and time, however you choose to do it, there is no salary paid. If you go to one of the schools that TSA has contracted with, they will pay for your room (approx. $400/month). Other than that, no living expenses, etc are paid by the company. Once you begin training in St Louis, however, in the Indoc and First Officer ground school, you get paid the block minimum (works out to a little more than $2000/month.

I’m about halfway through the FO training right now. If anyone has any questions, feel free to send me a DM. I’m loving it. TSA has been amazing so far.

Default ATP written

Hello everyone, I have an interview next month with TSA.

So I have my rotorcraft ATP already. The way I understand it is the fixed wing will be an add on. My interview email says to have my ATP written done before the interview. Is this what you guys did?

Thanks and greetings!

Default ATP/CTP course

No need to have ATP written complete prior to interview. IAW with FAA regs you can't take the ATP written until passing the ATP/CTP course.

A helo buddy of mine recently spoke with TSA recruiters about their RTP program. Basically they’re giving you an advance in your signing bonus unlike Envoy, PDT, TSA where the RTP money is separate from the signing bonus.
