agreed, granted you haven't started class at colgan, so it wouldn't like quite as bad, but lateral moves do have the potential to follow you, however, talk to some captains, and they'll tell you that it won't matter one bit.

Trans States has a very "questionable" future, granted you have no intentions of sticking it out, upgrade time @ TSA is very low, but theres the potential for street captains right around the corner, which will take the uber short upgrade and drag it out some when they're hired later this summer. There's also some uncertainty with what could happen to united if they decide to ditch the 50 pax flying for something more larger, say....a crj-700 operated by an alter ego you happen to know.

I'd definitely choose Colgan over TSA. Colgan's got it's cons, but they're growing with the addition of the of the Q's. That should drop upgrade to about a year and a half for guys starting in right now, so you'd be starting at a good time. Go, put in your time, get the quick upgrade, and move on.

Another bonus to working there is that you'll fly with guys a month at a time, so you get to know the captain really well, then they move on to places like SWA, CO, DL, etc. So, you get references at the majors.

I'd say it'd be a great choice for a place to move on to the majors in the shortest time.

I've not heard much positive about TSA.
