It's called impossibility of performance in contract law. If the other party makes it impossible for you to fulfill your part of the contract, the contract is void.

I agree with the result you said. I had always heard it called Breach of Contract.

To the OP, find a competent plaintiff’s employment lawyer with whom to consult. Try the State Bar or local (county) bar organization, most lawyers will at least meet and consult briefly without charge. AOPA also has panel counsel if you have Pilot Protection on your membership. ALPA should be able to help too.

To others trying to help, know that giving legal advice as a non-lawyer is a misdemeanor in many states.

Maybe in some states (it’s amazing what is legal in some places) but definitely not in many! Think about it, who writes the laws? State bar associations have a keen interest in ensuring their turf is well-protected.

They would quickly run out of money if they chased every person on the internet giving “legal advice.”

I think the ABA’s main concern is someone hanging a shingle who isn’t a lawyer. And besides, no one here is holding themselves out as a lawyer.

Go to https://www.reddit.com/r/legaladvice/ if you want to have a heart attack.

Do you Guys get to keep your UA Retiree Flight Benefits, or does UA screw you like Delta did to ASA?

ABA doesn’t enforce laws, gubmint does (or is supposed to, obviously anything internet is pretty low priority) and they don’t run out of money. They just raise our taxes.

And had one, thanks but no thanks.
