Do they force the CQFO to upgrade at first available or can you wait to avoid reserve as a captain?

They technically don't need it. They have 3 newly painted TSA AE planes that don't have To do STL PIT BDL anymore. The airplane might not be coming but that doesn't mean the flying isn't.

You can keep saying that. TSA is investing money into these airplanes. They wouldnt do that unless they were going to be around for more than another few months. Otherwise they'd just keep with phone weight and balance instead of installing new FMS units.

How is that cheerleading? Because a buddy of mine ran into a CP who talked about replacing the head units in all the AA aircraft for newer versions of the universal so it can talk to aerodata?

The ACARS is already turned on. The dispatchers get out and in times. They just have to input them manually.
