I can understand that. I've heard from some friends at pinnacoloba that its not pretty, they are looking to get out as well. Best of luck!

Because maybe 50 will make it to the line.

...so when I hear that we're going to be hiring until July I'm thinking to myself.... 4 guys now, 2 will wash, 10 guys next month, 5 will wash, and 10 guys in July...7 will wash because the company will suddenly realize they don't need that many pilots....think Feb 2008.

Yeah, unless there's something up their sleeves....I'll never know what holding a line feels like.
It's like getting shot with a horse tranquilizer. At first it's kind of shocking but, after a while, the happy feelings start to set in and life gets good.

Will Ferrell demonstrates:

Of course, we can never hope to achieve this at Trans States unless something drastic happens. Which it probably won't.

They have started calling the FOs to ask if they have the ATP, ATP written done, and total times..
Not usual for them to plan that far ahead for next years ATP requirement.

Could there be something else in the works?

Got that call this afternoon, wasn't sure if it was for the ATP requirement or maybe they think they will need to upgrade some FO's soon? No plans to go back but throw in an upgrade and that could change things. Anyone hearing anything???

Just the ATP requirement. From what I hear, DG has been talking about the requirement in the last few recurrent classes.

Yeah, don't get your hopes up, it's just for the ATP requirement.

Me: "So what's the plan? Are they going to give us a type ride at the same time?"
Guy on the phone: "I don't know, I'm just an intern."

My thoughts immediately after hearing the word "intern:"

As stated from at least one other its just for the ATP requirement. I think they are just trying to get a feel for how many guys have the written done already. They did come into recurrent and asked who had the ATP written done then told the ones that didn't raise their hands to get it done soon because of the new 1500 hour rule. Said they are formulating a plan (I know I didn't think they did that either) on how to deal with the implementation of the rule.

Honestly, we all learn through trial and error. Personally, TSA isn't my first by any means choice on where to work. However, I AM using this to be able to gain experience in the airline 121 interviewing experience so when I go for a better company like XJet or SkyWest I can know what to expect. I can read forums all day long on what to expect, but I take forums mostly with a grain of salt. However, I have a good friend of mine who interviewed at TSA 5 years ago, used his experience to gain 121 airline interview to get a job at <vomit> Mesa. After being furloughed he became our schools' 141 assistant chief instructor for 2 years, then bombed an interview at American Eagle only to get a job at Compass Airlines where the entrance exam ahs a 70% fail rate, and was told a week ago that everyone currently hired at Compass has a guaranteed interview with Delta when they meet the requirements. However, TSA and Go have ****ed off Delta enough to the point where Compass doesn't want to do anything with them. Go cancelled 17 flights last week and Compass picked up their routes... the list goes on.
