Well..I'm glad to be here. Its the next step in providing for my little family.
Its no super regional but the folks are nice and down to earth. Eager to help ( no they won't give you any handouts ) if you're eager to learn. Anyhow-- the green horns all made it through the systems test today. On to SIT and a few orals this Friday. Thanks for all the input and encouragement so far guys.

So I am filling out my app on airlineapps.com and when I get to the TSA addendum it says that TSA requires an internal recommendation. Does this mean if you don't know anyone within the company your toast? Is their any chance that they will even look at my app if I submit it with out this internal recommendation completed?

Welcome to TSA. Its not a terrible place to work like some say. Youll never be burdened with having too much cash or time off but the people are great and youll fly as much as you want. As its been said on here, training isn't easy but the key is to do the right amount of prep work. Don't over stress but don't blow it off. Don't be one of those guys who collect as many gouges for orals as possible. I saw plenty of them fail out during the Valentines Day Massacre of 2008 because they were more concerned with what theyre going to be asked than what they need to know to be a safe and competent pilot. The current group of check airmen are about as fair and decent as you could ask for. No one here is out to get you. Promise. Training does leave a little to be desired but if you made it through a bachelors degree then presumably you know how to study on your own and you don't need somebody to hold your hand and/or wipe for you. Best advice I got...it's not difficult to drive a jet. Don't over complicate it. Nothing needs to be done in a hurry. Relax. Be deliberate.

Nice post with great advice. Thanks. I for one am looking forward to flying as much as possible. First things first though I have to get through training, and I'm doing all I can to prep for that.

You'll find plenty of people here and on other boards that are more than willing to help you out. Good luck. We are all on this boat together...shoot me a PM with any questions.

Trans States new hire here looking for some information. Seems like a great pilot group and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone at training-wondering if there's a new contract on the horizon or what future growth looks like?
What do most new hires do for housing?
As I said, it's nice to see some of the positive comments been posted on this thread. Hope to see you guys and gals on the line a few months from now.
