Negotiations Update

As you are aware we held another negotiating session with the company this week in Washington, DC at ALPA Headquarters.

No agreement was reached.

No agreement? Geez I thought this time it would be different. Although I am surprised that the NMB scheduled a mediated session so quickly. Maybe they're actually getting half as fed up with this crap as the pilot group.

How often do these "negotiations" occur? I would think that both sides are sick of this and would want to end it, but I guess someone is obviously enjoying it.

2013 for united. Although I'm not sure of the exact date. My guess is the leases on the planes will start to come up prior to that point. The US air is a year by year setup from what I've been told. So they can pretty much end it whenever they want. TSA doesn't exactly scream job security as the moment.

Which is why we need job security in this contract.

How could they offer job security in a new contract if their flying contracts are due to be up (United)? Unless they have plans to pick up new flying and/or new planes?

The union has explained options for this in their communications that sound more than reasonable.

Just so happens that Trans States Holdings enCompasses more than just Trans States Airlines. Go(Jet) put that in your pipe and smoke it! There are other ways to offer job security but that is a pretty big one.
