Folks, this may be somewhat of a tangent, but how many of those MRJs expected to come to TSA will actually be flying for TSA when they at last arrive? Is TSA planning on replacing all its ERJ 145s at some future time?

TSH has orders for 50 MRJs and 50 E 175 E2s. Both do not meet present mainline scope but the company swears they will eventually meet scope.

Personally I don't look more than two or three years out in the contract flying business. These contracts are so full of loopholes and the business can change so much anything more than a year or two is reading tea leaves.

My bad. I mis spoke. You can tell I was talking about pilots/airplane. Didn't mean to say crews. Are we short? Yes we are, but if you look at the reserve grid today there are still some reserves. We didn't cancel any flights for crews yesterday.

We really haven't cancelled many flights for lack of crews unless delays stack up. 3.5/4 crews per airplane is insane to run an airline but somehow we are doing it right now.

Let's be honest, the MRJS are never coming.

I wouln't count them out, nor would I count them in. Just enjoy this ride while it lasts because the worm can turn on a dime in this business.....

According to the Chief Pilot's memo, you just need to try harder. It just that simple..

Classes start every two weeks - so depending on ur interview date, it could be from 1 to 14 days soonest, or longer if u need.

I use my ID travel for AA all the time with less than 24 hours advance notice when jumpseating and have had no problems...

They are working on a solution but it is a technical issue of getting the AA airplanes to communicate with our SOC. Heard a rumor that the software to do this is proprietary to Envoy and they are not giving it up at any price. Another option is to yank them out and replace them with Honeywells but that would cost $120,000 per plane for the wiring harness alone...

So in the near term it appears we are stuck with this....

You can, but your enrolled friends and family require 3 days advanced notice so the travel office can issue them a ticket. It's in the memo. You could read it or I could explain it to you but the former is easier.
