Well it's 700 to pay someone to fix it so I just went to Houston anyways. My fault but I felt it should've been approved.
Should have done more research about the airlines and reserve. They won't let you do this because it is a reserve day and your schedule is always subject to change, even at the last minute. Also you cannot start a trip out of base without Chief Pilot approval, mainly because you are required to check your file for any memos or revisions (such as Jepps).

Sorry you lost your job, but I don't know of any regional airline that would have approved something like this for a reserve on a reserve day. Maybe if its a pickup on a day off, but not on a scheduled reserve day.

Sounds like your attitude didn't help you much. Seriously, from your posts why did you waste your time and the companies time? Reserve is what it is, its the same pretty much everywhere. Actually TSA's credits for reserve days are better than most. Did you even bother to research what reserve as a commuter was going to be like?

Best of luck to you, but it sounds like you should have put some more thought into this. It's not hard to find out what reserve is like in the airline industry.

Company uses the LIMO code in crew track to keep track of crew members who are getting themselves from a nonbase location to/from a trip. The LIMO code is used in lieu of a deadhead. So when we call scheduling to ask to be released from a deadhead to go home the term used is "LIMO" home.

The captain called scheduling from STL.

I did my research and was told there's so much flying I wouldn't have to sit reserve. Not true. That weekend, I had to fix a car that my family needs and they wouldn't work with me so I figured it out myself. I'm not paying someone $700 to do it when I can do it for 150, because I barely made minimum wage. It's simple numbers to me, they're paying 20K first year and dangling a quick upgrade possibility, so we work for peanuts. Well until I see that upgrade or make more money, it's a 20k job to me and I have to do what I have to do to survive.

But ur right, I should ve never taken the job. I left C5 because I was fed up with the regional crap, and I just got more of the same. Some pilots will put up with it, I wish u the best, truly I hope everyone upgrades soon. I'm just done, I'll find another way. Not saying I'm right, but that's the world how I see it.

The captain called scheduling? I usually don't party attention to who's on the dead head. That sucks that he inadvertently got you fired. Well best of luck to you and your family.

It's really tough to work for a company who goes out of their way at every turn to give you as little as possible while trying to take as much from you as possible.

Kat, there are some regionals that will let you go straight to your trip from home...and yes, on reserve.

Well I got myself fired but I see what ur saying. Thanks for the well wishes everyone. There's a little humor in that my family is actually happy I got fired. I'm even a little relieved. It'll be fine, as long as I can make it through this drive to AZ, lol.

Well I've worked for 3 different regionals, including in the SOC, and I've never seen where they will let you limo into a trip on a scheduled reserve day, and most won't even let you limo in on a line. The only time I've ever seen a reserve Limo in on a reserve trip was where they were helping the company out in some way, either by picking up a trip early or waiving the contract somehow.

I've seen plenty that will let you limo out on the last day when they can't use you any more on reserve, or let lineholders limo out. I have worked for a company that would never allow you to limo out, even on your last day because they could still junior man you.
