Yea good luck with that. Story of Tsa. They try to talk you out of giving them flying. The mrj will be here in 3 years though.

Wrong. It was the extra training required due to separate operating certificates that caused the problem. If Pinnacle had merged the certificates before merging the seniority lists it wouldn't have been as much of a problem, but that was only the tip of the iceberg that hit Pinnacle. There were much deeper problems there that had nothing to do with the separate operating certificates.

That is why Republic is merging CHQ and Shuttle before moving large numbers of pilots from the 145 to the 170. Even though they are all on the same seniority list, any pilot moving between certificates requires full blown initial training. Once the certificates are merged, only differences training is required.

A more legit rumor is iPads by December to everyone. 6 month trial phase. Which means you still have to carry the Galaxy tab and Jepps.
Plus those waste of space ship sets. I guess Max is making the mounting brackets for the plane.

So... yes, more flying in the works. That's what the hiring is for. But, still doesn't mean we will actually get the flying.
Supposedly we were talking to somebody about 50 airplanes but the company is concerned we can't staff all of them.

Which is a pretty legit concern considering that would more than double the size of the airline. We're definitely not THAT overstaffed. I'd say we have guys on property to fly maybe 5 more planes, MAYBE.

If you announce it, pilots will come. It's worked out pretty well for psa, compass and mesa. At least so far. I don't think this overstaffing has anything to do with new flying, they're just stocking up on bodies so to speak. There's rumors that guys are starting to quit. They should be worried.

Part of the problem is they have never had a problem staffing here, and they are slow to understand what will be required to staff in the new environment. They seem to be waking up by offering the hiring bonus at Blowjet, but they need to do a better job of communicating what their plans are to the TSA pilot group. Some of the high time guys that are still in the right seat are getting frustrated because they expected the quick upgrade but are getting aced out as the more senior 2012 guys meet the requirements for upgrade.

Well, this is what happens when people start to realize you feed them a line of **** during the interview.
