Hi guys,
1st post for me.
Question: what's the state of FO QOL and overall satisfaction at TSA. I interviewed there. I have interviewed at several regionals and they all offered me a job. Just not sure which one to take?
Thanks in advance

Cant speak directly for the FO QOL as im currently in the left seat, however I can tell you that the management within this company has dramatically changed for the better over the last 3 years. To be brief you are treated more as a professional than a liability. Scheduling has its problems as you are likely to find everywhere, however our management seems to work in the direction of legitimately trying to make us happy and address concerns. If you lurk in the APC community long enough you will most likely hear that QOL is directly tied to your commute. You are also likely aware that we currently reside in STL as well as IAD with an ORD base opening in July. Personally I can tell you that an easy commute really does make the job much more attractive, however consider the viability of each company moving forward. It sounds as if TSA might possibly be doing additional flying in the near future and any movement here means significant seniority gains as we are still a relatively small airline. It is an airline however and we are very limited in anything that they share with us but there's a lot going on around here which is relatively strange for an airline that used to be run on skeleton crew model. I guess time will tell, but for the meantime I can say that I don't hate working here anymore, it actually isn't all that bad

As it's been said over and over on this thread things have improved here and it's as good as any other regional. The only thing is that the future here is still uncertain because we only fly 50 seaters and they're getting old. If you're looking for a bit more certainty there's other regionals that have long term contracts. Other than that it's not a bad place. New ord base. iAd is shrinking as is stl.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies. You guys sound fairy satisfied.
Is the DC base IAD or DCA? I'm looking for DC either one. How hard will it be to get basing there?

I heard two new aircraft already in the maintenance hunger, and three more coming from Mexico.

Personally my guess with Chicago coming online, Dulles will be shrunk drastically to a mini hub. But can't say for sure until Chicago is up and running.

I'm sure iad won't be too hard to get but you may be on reserve a long time there. Depends where these supposed new aircraft are going. Original plan was for iad to shrink by almost half to about 40 crews. Again, things may change with new planes.

TSA is running two classes this month, the first is about 14, the second 10. They only had 11 in the April class, so something is definitely in the works.
There's been talk of more flying for AAG that was dropped by CHQ and Envoy, but then again.....nothing is certain.

Our new commuter clause just got exponentially better. Interesting. There was a maximum of 2 uses of the clause in a 12 calender month period, but not is changed to unlimited use.
