We had 5 year Captains, heck we had 6 month Captains when I got hired in 1987. We doubled the size of the airline between 86 and 87. Why should we pay the price for your stagnant career? What was your career expectation the day before the merger was announced? About 1 month and you were out of cash. We (AWA) made the payroll for June of 05, that's how bad it was.

Parker can say what he wants to you guys back East but he cannot lie to the SEC. Look at the papers filed in bankruptcy court - US Airways was Aquired by AWA holdings. But you know, it doesn't really matter much now. The award was done by ALPA rules and you guys even got to pick the arbitrator - the same guy that gave the Shuttle guys a victory in their seniority award against you. That has to tell you how bad your case for DOH was.

By whining and moaning about the unfairness of it all you are doing nothing but dragging yourself down. You have a job, a job that can pay you a lot more and recover some of what you have lost in terms of pay and lifestyle. All you have to do is show up and attend the Joint Negotiation sessions, and get on board with a new contract.

Remember, the West pilots did not want you, UAL did not want you, no other carrier wanted you. So **** and get with the program. The sooner you guys lose the attitude and enjoy life the better we all will be.
No one but you has a bad attitude except maybe you pal. I'm completely content and happy with my life. This stuff is nothing in the big scheme of life. What is just amazing or rather entertaining to me is how amateur the entire west side is. Who's making the money and who's name is on the airplanes? You're welcome.

Who said USAir pilots wanted to be "wanted". WE didn't want the merger with United any more than we wanted a buyout of Delta. Anymore than we wanted your piddly little airline or anymore than we wanted the pathetic managements that we had over the last few years but did we have ANY say or control in that? We were Piedmont. One of the best airlines ever, but alas I'm sure you have no idea. If we were given a management that was worth anything we'd have been and stayed on top. It's not OUR fault but we've sure paid the price.

DOH is the only fair way to merge anyone. Isn't it interesting that the Flight Attendants, Mechanics, Gate Agents, and all other employees were merged Date of Hire. Wow what a concept. Yes our MEC screwed up a LOT of things and gave it all away but it doesn't negate what ALPA has done to our seniority and the process as a whole. If the shoe were on the other foot I'd like to know how you'd take it. The USAirways pilots saved this airline. Not you. How naive you are. Pathetic.

The language you use and write is an indicator of the man. ****? How childish and you are a Captain? Wow. This company and it's employees have been in the big leagues for years and you little guys have just entered it (thanks to us) with koolaid in hand. Just wait until United gets ahold of you in the next merger and you'll know how it feels. Welcome to the big leagues buddy.

Yea watch Parker's last video on the hub and there's an AW F/O winning and crying about "I've been on reserve for the last three years and it's not fair". Oh you've had it so rough!

"America West Airlines received a loan of $380 million from the Air Transportation Stabilization Board. As of April 2005, the remaining balance on the loan was $300 million. On October 19, 2005, the loan was repaid when the debt was refinanced with other lenders."

It is a well known fact that AWA pilots were the lowest paid in the industry. They operated in bankruptcy protection 1991 to 1994, and were about to go bankrupt, chapter 7 after 911. AWA was the first in line for Airline Stabilization Board after 911. They received aprox 388 million from the government and in 2005 they had a cash balance of 338 million, when financiers provide by Usairways lined up banks and picked Ceo Parker, not the airline AWA to run the company.
