ALPA, what are you doing about this?

Don't forget that happened before. Unfortunately MAG saw it as a good opportunity to sign an unnecessary contract and undid everything that was done! Now we even get to see Big Sky doing some of the routes we used to do in BOS. I also must say it probably won't be long before we get to see chimmy chonga do more flying in CVG than Comair. Ok sorry rant over, no offense to CHQ.

I think that is part of the problem too, the union representatives are probably getting "under the table" cutbacks from the airlines to endorse the crappy contracts and promote them.....corruption at its finest

Were you even working at Comair during the strike? Here's a history lesson. MAG was being whipsawed by JO starting a non-union alter ego. Maybe you've heard of it, Freedom? They took it in the shorts to get the flying back on the union side. So they were successful in that respect when compared to TSA vs gojet. None of you bashers out there have ever had to put up with the likes a management team as crooked as JO. Hell, most of you were probably still in high school back then. BTW, look at the end of their CBA, it's got a nice big fat signature from Duane Worth on there. Why is ALPA national endorsing crappy contracts?
The average MAG line pilot who accepted that contract reasonably believed that it was the only way to get rid of Freedom A. The reality is that the pending lawsuit PROBABLY would have turned out in favor of MAG without the need to give everything away, since there was an implied scope in the existing contract. AH and company apparently didn't want to wait for the lawsuit (who knows what their motives were?).
MAG alpa did a poor job of managing that situation, and national apparently didn't provide much guidance or backbone.
The whole thing was a big mess, but the average line pilot really isn't at fault for the contract. Why they still work there today is beyond me...what little contract they did have has lately been violated like a blond in a turkish prison. Unless you have a sick family member and need insurance, I can't really respect those who stay...face it folks, you choose poorly. Time for plan B.

I'm no tin-foil-hat conspiracy type, but I honestly cannot rule this out in regards to the MAG contract.

Most National Officers have a Dry Cleaning budget in excess of the average RJ F/O's 1st year salary. I don't think you'll have much success getting them to really empathize and understand what it's like.
These rates are few years old, despite the Chapter 11's and pay cuts in the industry, they don't seem to affect ALPA national officers.
