Check with your reps with regards to "Wilson Polling"...

It's pretty accurate.

Unfortunately, there are many, many people who believe this. The panic mongering from the MEC is substantial.

Whether one is a "yes" voter or a "no" voter, I think it's hard to debate that the MEC is pushing the panic button pretty hard.

Whatever those solutions are, there are changes to be made that can make this acceptable to all. In the mean time quit trying to influence votes with a end of the world senario. That is why we vote.

What is the solution? 5%, 10%, 20% higher DC contributions? How about $20, $40, $80/hour pay raises? This is not a section 6 negotiations. Nor are we at some economic windfall in this industry or our respective airlines that would warrant such requests. Anyone who thinks we are has no sound grasp of economic reality or financial prowess.

We all took paycuts. This logic is the same as telling your wife she can get a new car from Ford, agreeing to the new car, then having her turn around at the dealer and say "since you can afford to pay for a new Ford, you can obviously afford to buy a new Lexus. I'm your wife, and I'm worth it plus I deserve it." The economic reality is you can only afford the Ford, but the wife thinks because you have cash for one, you must certainly be able to afford the other. If she withholds sex until you come up with a Lexus are you any more financially sound for having done so?

I don't think anyone is accusing management of "withholding sex." Unfortunately, the sex they are providing is rather uncomfortable, and is probably illegal in Georgia and several other states. It is, however, perfectly legal (and even encouraged) in Minnesota.

Going back to your wife/Ford/Lexus analogy--if you received a bonus or some other variable changed--i.e., your cost of doing business just dropped by a huge factor since you convinced her you could only afford an Escort...well, you're damn skippy she's going to want a piece of that cash!

Heyas Spliff,

But you guys already ponied up for the new car, signed on the dotted line, and paid retail. The dealer already has your money. How exactly are you going to get it back?

You MIGHT have been able to negotiate for 2 nice Caddys for the same price, but you didn't want to give a finders fee to your "Detroit Connection".

But hey, you got your Ford, and since the dealer hooked a sucker that paid full retail for the "Ford Escort LOA ", he can afford to cut some slack to the next customer in line for the Caddy.

Enjoy your Escort.

Guess what, our best interests are aligned on a couple of issues. But not on most issues. I'd be mighty obliged if you NWA guys would sit down and **** when it comes to DAL issues until this whole thing is resolved.

We know you want the money and widebody slots and southern bases. Whether you'll get them is another matter entirely.

So you don't want widebody flying, higher pay, and southern bases? Then tel your MEC that! I'm sure we could make something happen.

You make it out like you have 5000+ pilots coming in and bringing nothing while gunning for only your job. Everyone wants more money and job security and together as a single group we can achieve that. This isnt about any single person its about the collective group. The sooner that is realized the better our future as a combined pilot group will be. Not everyone wants a southern base and widebody flying fwiw.
