They are simply saving their political hides. Not only is it in their interest to do so but the company’s as well. The company needs this MEC and NC vs a group of hardliners. Get ready for a disastrous 50+1 agreement.
Now is the time to recall the MC and sack the Negotiating Committee.
We should demand to see the vote count.

Doesn't it seem like the MEC is just doing things and not telling their own people? Like right now, there's a TA townhall going on selling the UPA as we get an email saying it's been delayed. Why did they have a special meeting last week to do just the opposite of what they agreed upon and announced to us.
I'm hopeful there'll be some improvement, but also feels like they did this to save themselves from recall with how epically it was going to fail and will now negotiate just enough to get a 51% pass in 3 months. If its crap in 3 months then we get to do this nonsense all over again

OK so it fails and we get to the same process we just got from the company. I'll take it. You all, on here at least, have been ****ed about this alleged TURD and want a better deal. Now people are complaining that the talks will reopen to get a better deal!? WTF. Flip flopping like this sounds political vs. really wanting an improved contract. SMH

Just listened to the MEC chairman talk on the last TA townhall.
Apparently the company approached the MEC about reopening negotiations this Monday and they just voted on it today to delay the vote 3 more months while they work through a new agreement.
Apparently management was hearing a lot of the discontent through other channels beyond the union process.
Very interesting, and pretty much unprecedented for a company to approach a union mid vote to "improve" an agreement.
