United pax forcibly removed from flight

United will pay for their own mistakes, not the passenger's.

He made bad decisions before and he made bad decisions on the plane.
Obviously, the service failings of UA are far deeper than Munoz, it extends deep into the organization. I've never had good service with UA and I've flown every legacy extensively; flew for EA and flown numerous foreign carriers. UA, as I said earlier, is worse than Aeroflot domestic.

Munoz seemed like such a good change for United but this will probably go down in history as a case study in everything not to do in public relations. How can a company as big as UA not have a functional PR department? Crisis management plan? I didn't see a single United spokesperson on the news for the last two days. This is inexcusable for a company this size, much less an airline. This makes you wonder how dysfunction the rest of the company is, and how they would respond to a true disaster.

You're conflating the process of boarding with being physically "on board" the aircraft. Seat assignments change all the time between the door and plane, but you aren't "boarded" until the door closes. So again, they were all denied boarding even though they were already seated. I speak truth whether I pay attention or not, you just choose not to believe it.

"UAL will hv to hire ex spec forces to get passengers ONTO their planes"
That's a tweet from none other than Tom Brokaw two hours ago.
Then there's this

Rough stuff. This doctor's gonna get something. Probably a lot of something. Nowhere does Kimmel mention Republic. Nobody will care about technicalities or contracts. The lawsuit never sees the inside of a court room. It will simply be a matter of how many zeroes get added to his check.
And for the record, I'll still happily fly United. Despite being on the end of some really shi!ty customer service on the part of gate agents on two occasions.

How can you be the service of flying paying passengers to their destination. The man bought and paid for a ticket, showed up on time, was security checked, boarded and seated. UA then decides to breach their contract by tossing him off for the sole purpose of flying a crew they wouldn't position by some other means. The paying passenger is the priority.

Don't worry about United or any other airline, they won't loose a dime. They will continue to overbook because it is common industry practice, baked into the cake by airline deregulation. If you want to boycott one airline, no problem, you will be back shortly when another carrier doesn't live up to your expectation. The public memory is shorter than that of a gnat, no one will even remember this incident in a week. CNN has been particularly despicable in this affair, but even they will move on quickly.
The CEO should not have apologized, but instead should have filed charges for trespass. This guy should be banned for life as many others have been for misbehavior or failure to follow directions. This guy clearly is disturbed, far better for the airline to discover his personality disorder while they were still on the ground.
Anyone, that would refuse an order from a LEO, is not in touch with reality. Litigate later if he is not satisfied (he would loose), and as any sane citizen would do, but self help or civil disobedience on an airplane will get you a split lip and not to Louisville.
