Flown with 2 guys now in just a year on the line who were recent buyers of headsets, and both commented that they didn’t know what they were missing until that purchase.

So what do most people wear on the 756 fleet? I use an ANR headset now on the guppy.

Speaker and microphone at cruise... plantronics with custom ear piece or donkey d!ck all other times. Very rarely did anyone wear their own headset.

I use a Telex ANR. I think it’s the 750 or 850

It's the 850. Best headset for the job.

I have flown with guys who use the company minitel with a personal headset that doesn't have a mouthpiece, then leave the hotmic on thinking they're doing everyone a favor. It is the only way to make a guppy louder since the minitel didn't filter ambient noise, it actually aplifies it.

I recently got the Bose Proflight. Absolutely Lov them. Super lightweight, can wear glasses with no interference. Ear buds are comfortable. Wore them for 8+ hour flight with not issues. Def worth a try.

How is it flying with someone not wearing a headset?

From my experience its very rare that you will see a personal headset used by a pilot on the 767, 777, and 787. Those I've seen who do wear them have one ear muff off... which kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it? I totally get the headsets for the 737... that cockpit is noisy.
