Because the industry hasn’t reached a dire need for pilots that major airlines are resorting to hiring neophyte pilots with zero turbine time. There are still plenty of highly experienced pilots out there to be hired.

Rumor has it the first person from the CFI program showed up at TK and was less than stellar so they are re-evaluating the program.

If that’s true, should they be surprised by that? They don’t have the background and experience to do well without a lot of extra time and help.

PI during CQ had a guy from this program for Qual training. Said he was super sharp.

They are very book smart. I have observed 1 of these and it was a disaster. Talked to a lot of instructors about the other few. Had been online for 4 months and had no clue about things like energy management and landing. Very nice and great with box, but it's a really bad idea.
