If we displace off of the 756 in any domicile other than IAH that would be a bad signal not even MOP could ignore.
I agree with your analysis but I do think DCA will see enough pilots go to the 787 and 737 CA that they won't displace

30 yr pilot should have more OPTIONS on how they want to work now than a 12 yr pilot. That is exactly what the current system provides. They can chose more pay or more QOL. Even a combination of both.

Bigger/faster = more pay. It's the most basic of concepts.

If they box isn't broken you don't need to fix it.

Is your name Leonard or Jeff?????? If you're really a 787 CA I'm guessing your an 83-85 hire.
Were SCABs technically hired? My understanding was they just stole their jobs from the legit Union pilots.

You're correct. I should have worded it differently. Thanks for the correction.

I would say yes they were hired.

Never forget the Company is equally guilty of trying to steal those union jobs. There wouldn't be any scabs if the Company didn't want them

Many of us 30 year plus pilots had multiple chances to scab and most of us didn't bit. My seniority puts me behind sUA 89 hires that weren't even qualified to be Airline pilots when the scab opportunities were there. No, I'm not a scab. An early 87 hire, started with the Striking pilots after the Order and Award.

These days those that talk about scabs the most, more than likely never had the opportunity to scab. We will never Know what they would have done had they been offered the chance.

You either know what you would do or you don't... if you don't that's a problem.

You seem to always be spot on as it relates to staffing and displacements. If we could get some more big jets maybe we wouldn't be displacing. We'd be adding???

Oscar made an interesting comment in the Pacific a few weaks ago. "We have way more International Widebody airplanes than we have profitable wide body routes, and not enough domestic airplanes for all the profitable domestic flying." He doesn't see that changing in the very near future. Way too much competition from foreign carriers.

We need to follow the money, not the airplane.
The competition from the foreign carriers will only increase. Therefore access to those high yield PRASM's will be in high demand. If we chose not to compete with the ME3, or NAI, etc, then it's the same as choosing not to compete with SWA domestically. You can't run and hide from the competition. You need to take it on - head on. My suggestion to Oscar is "compete where the big money is, not always where the easy money is."

Easy money is great. But remember, domestically we still have a huge RJ problem boogering up our brand, our brand loyalty, and the quality and reliability of our product. SWA and Jet Blue don't appear to be waiving the surrender flag domestically, so put your big boy pull ups on and get to work Oscar.

And, oh yeah, Kirby; you need to figure out how to get some B-757's back. Huge mistake to park em. The aircraft flies a great mission for us and the 737 nor the airbus seem to be matching their lift capability, especially on longer routes and heavier routes.
