You aren't even on the property yet and you've already been "Jeffed" over. Sorry Lurchi.

Look at it this way, if you will be living in a United domicile it's worth it to avoid commuting, plus your retirement seniority will probably be better than not having waited so long for a class as some people ahead of you will have gone elsewhere. If you're staring at 25 years ahead, 6 more months is meaningless.

Caveat, if we buy Spirit and have to merge guys who got passed on in their interviews or have apps waiting here.....I don't even want to think about this possibility.

Without a vacancy bid there is no movement without movement there is no new hires.
That's funny, I brought up up that EXACT point previously.

Was told it's been taken into account and wouldn't affect anything......

Welcome to the club. We're still trying to un-Jeff the airline, and will be for years.

This is actually good airline industry training as everyone (at all the majors) have been getting a little complacent lately with all this unbridled hiring and optimistic prognostications.

This industry can and will change on a dime some day. May not be another "lost decade" but world events, economic difficulties, oil spikes, and/or mergers could easily cause another "lost few years" on everyones anticipated airline career at any or all of the majors.

Until your on a seniority list with 20% behind you, plan accordingly for system shocks and be pleasantly surprised if all the rainbows and unicorn farts mgmt's been selling over the last few years come true.

Not only this, if you are above the bottom 20% also budget for the downturns that ALWAYS eventually occur. The next one might be mild or it might not.

The last time the spam really hit the fan some of the folks hardest hit were those who were living paycheck-to-paycheck during the good times. They did not get furloughed but they were operating without a net and the result was predictable.

why would you turn down an interview when you aren't employed at the major of your choice?

"Undiedled" may be a stretch. The initial projection for 2017 was 800, with this fall/winter end of year SNAFU it won't even hit 500.

Latest and greatest from BK says 450 for 2018. Look at how mnay retire in 2018.

But.......but......we'll be hiring 100 a month indefinitely!!!

Until your on a seniority list with 20% behind you
Personal experience, but when I took my furlough, it was HALF the pilot group. 20% wouldn't have been enough.....

Unbridled refers to just over a year ago we had UAL pilots right here on this forum posting they were personally told by mgmt during captain upgrade that the Ual seniority list would be 18,000 strong by 2020, even after retirements. That would have been unbridled hiring had it even come close to fruition.
