Default Picking up flying on reserve days off

As the title states, how likely is scheduling to give you a trip if you call at 1 pm local base time?

I understand it wouldn't behoove them to do it all the time, since they have a list of pilots on reserve who will essentially be doing it for free, just curious what your experiences are.

Depends how fat they are.

In lean times, RES maggots have done pretty well. Those that wanted the buck$ anyway. VDO pays 1.5.

Unless you have a girlfriend on the layover that would be pointless. They can't really bring you below 13 days off. VDO is your friend and is worth it.

Gotcha. I'm not looking for VDO pay, just going to back east on some days off and wanted to try that whole Atlantic crossing thing.

So, they won't let you go below 13/12 days off period? I looked in the contract and didn't see that

Once you become a line holder you will be able to do that with trip drops. Think you also need 30 hours free of duty at the end of the trip to allow it to be legal. So basically, I wouldn't bother with it while on reserve.
