not familiar with the current bunks on sparkie or bigfoot... and never worked the whale.. if some captain is trying to direct crewmembers' personal matters (how to hold it), then he's overstepping. but if a captain is directing matters that affect in any way the operation, then you need to review your far's and fom, smartass. if your eating in the bunk space affects his ability to rest, he absolutely can issue you an order. and you must follow it. or find new work.
smartass children these days.

So wait a minute... you have zero experience on ANY of the mentioned fleets. You also have no idea the design nor provided space in these bunks? Perhaps you should probably keep your opinions on this matter yourself vs bad mouthing those that are on the fleets who have first hand experience on the specific details regarding crew meal consumption in the designated areas to do so?

I Captained the 747 at UAL and don’t remember one F/O who wanted to eat in the bunk room. Most would eat before or after their break while seated in the flying seat.
Of course Jerry may have taught the F/Os so well they just didn’t think of it by the time I got to fly with them.
At legacy UAL the B747 fleet was a whole different world.

If one were to eat in the rest area seat on the 787 while I was in the bunk, I very much doubt I'd notice it.
If one were to fire up the Google machine, they can find photos and videos of the 787 and 777-300 rest areas. The 777-300 looks like it's got a lot of space and eating there wouldn't be an issue.
