Seemes like a more reasonable gear solution than I feared. Wondering how it works on touchdown - guessing limited compression until deck angle decreases? Just wondering what sort of new approach speeds this will need over the MAX9 w/ same wing. Probably no brake temp indication added only because we’d freak out if we saw the numbers ;)

Very few ordered, I think UAL is half of the order book. I wouldn't be surprised to see in CNXed.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t UAL convert 100 of the 161 MAX orders to 737 MAX 10s?

I think the company is targeting this specific airframe for transcons.

That's better than the 737-600. I think WestJet has half or more of the airframes built and they have something like 6 of them.

I think there might be 200 total orders for the POS airframe. How much money will Boeing spend to sell 200 more 737's?

I foresee zero future maintenance delays having to do with that over-engineered contraption of a gear.

WTF did I just watch.

Let’s hope Airbus is able to sell UA 321s for the same price or less. The crew costs for UA are identical.

F4 landing gear

This nothing new. The MD F4 had such an arrangement. Upon retraction, the main gear strut would be sucked up (shorter) as it retracted into the well.

It usually worked okay, but I did watch an F4-C land gear up at Keflavik because one of the gear extend in the well and got hung up.

Spectacular show from my perspective next to the runway.

Major Charlie M. held it off too long and plopped in on so hard, the radome flew off, the radar package extended on the rail, and the drop tanks curled back over the wing.

He jumped out and left his WSO, Lt. Andy A. Stunned and sitting in his seat, canopy closed.

Of course Charlie got the quarterly AF safety award.

Link works now and yes; added clearance for rotation and motors. However the current max 9 has the same motors (LEAP 1B) with the standard landing gear

It’s not extra clearance for the engines as compared to the other Max variants. The -10 will have the same engines.

It’s soley to help with rotation and tail strikes and runway performance.

Thanks. Now I wonder when the 737 MAX 10 will get larger engines.

It won’t. They have spent billions developing the Leap, they aren’t going the spend billions more for a larger one just for one airframe.
