Unsuccessful Interview
#5
And when you get called again you can say in the interview your long suffering and tenacity to keep at it is because you think so highly of United that it’s the only major you really want to work for. They love that kind of stuff.

Just focus on where you think the weak point might have been and crush it the next time. An interviewer for United awhile back said that by far, the HR portion is where people have problems.
I did meet a regional captain on the jump seat who had failed the hogan on the 1st attempt and then was unsuccessful in the actual interview on his 2nd try. I believe the policy is 2 strikes and you are out. He said he was permanently disbarred from another interview with United.
Good luck.
You’ll get it on the next one or get picked up by one of the others before having to wait a year for United to call again.

Yes, this is unfortunately true. Any 2nd "unsuccessful" attempt on ANY portion of the interview process disqualifies you from employment at UAL.
For me it was the 2x Hogan fail. Thanks to Hogan, I never actually got to speak to a real person. Oh well...

We're in the same boat. I too was unsuccessful in the interview. I did interview prep, thought I had some good stories for the TMAAT questions and told them in the SAR format. So I walked out of there feeling like I had done well. So I really can't figure out what I did to not get the thanks but no thanks. Maybe my answers were too canned? Maybe the CRM/Tech portion wasn't up to par? I'll try again next year, I suppose.

I was in the same boat some years ago. Sorry...it sucks!! Got the job the second time around. It took just over 2 years to get called back. I know some that were called back right after the 12 month wait, and some even longer than I. I even know some that still are waiting for another call....just depends. Just make sure, next time you take the Hogan, that you pass. You fail that, that’s like failing the face to face again....You’re done! I’ve actually heard of this happening to candidates. Good luck!
