Yes. Yes it is, try it and let us all know how it goes.

Of course you're allowed to drink in uniform. Its still a free country. At the moment anyway.

No regulations that I am aware of, or would ever willingly comply with, require you to take off your hat, blazer, tie, wings, etc. before you open the fridge at home and grab a cold one. Forcristsake. Dumbest question ever.

A few fishy things about this article. 5 stripes. My guess is the shirt and a few other things were photo shopped, and they screwed it up.

Normal SOP ops...pax were shocked? Just goes to prove, we are under scrutiny all the time, even sleeping. Drive by picture? Cheap shot. I'm guessing the pax weren't regulars in first. So, media stretching the truth a bit? Taking a few liberties? Surprising. Moral of the story, be careful what you do in public, we are being watched at all times. Even if its normal SOP ops.

UAL wants to short change us on crew rest facilities, then they have to deal with the fallout. Geez, at least give us a curtain.

I have an acquaintance (retired now) who had 5-stripe epaulets made and wore near the end of his career. He referred to himself as "Commodore". It was just a joke.

Not a dumb question unless he had stipulated "commercial pilot", instead of "pilot". I know plenty of pilots that drink in uniform.

When i worked in the EU 15 years ago it was totally fine to have your crew meal at the end of duty in full uniform in the airport restaurant and it would include wine/beer. It is a more mature approach to assume someone drinking must be done working than to assume if you aren't allowed to drink in uniform you will never have a drunk pilot.

Can u say "click bait". Sadly I admit I'm just as guilty, but at least I closed the page as soon as it asked me to answer a question to read the article.
