My reading comprehension is turned off today.
I read Grumble’s post as don’t bid a widebody when you are jr and then complain about not flying.

I like the way U has the flying and relief pairings built.

Could be wrong but I took it as a separate status bid within the base and equipment.

Separate -as in each position of trip. Like it is today.
Not its own BES.

Can you show me in the contract where it says the IRO gets paid less?

PS the bunk already is a separate bid.

It isn't rocket science. You either are junior and are forced into the bunky seat or you have the seniority to maximize your schedule and days off. Have we gone so far off the deep end that we are demonizing those who value time off and pay? I'm envious of those who either fly 9 days per month or never set foot on a plane on reserve.

Positive attitude James knows quality of life.
I wasn’t referring to who bids what and why. I’m simply stating that those who land 3 times a month aren’t any better pilots than anyone else. Nothing more. I’m not in the business of giving an F about who likes to fly and who doesn’t. I’m only in the business of caring about what schedule works best for me.

I thought you implied to make the bunky a separate bes. In that case it probably would pay less.

Who said they were better pilots? They do as a general rule have better schedules.

There were posts on this thread on page 9 about how bunky pilots are a liability because they don’t fly.
